After a successful Rural Banking career, Matt joined the extremely successful Bay of Plenty Bayleys Lifestyle and Country team in 2016, this has provided him an exciting opportunity to work alongside a successful and experienced sales staff and be part of a team that has exceptional marketing tools available to help assist our vendors in achieving their goals. Matt has gained many skills in the rural sector, including a Rural Valuation paper through Massey University, budgeting and financing skills along with a great understanding of on farm skills and knowledge. Matt enjoys working with staff and clients to help them achieve their goals, this is proven with his strong negotiation skills and by working alongside many key rural professional organisations throughout Bay of Plenty.
Awards:
Matt was raised on a sheep and beef farm in Northland and spent countless hours working in shearing gangs while growing up. On completion of his schooling at Whangarei Boys’ high School, Matt completed a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Marketing at the University of Otago.
Following university Matt played rugby in Ireland before returning home to play ITM Cup Rugby for Northland and then Bay of Plenty, with his career highlight being playing for the All Blacks Sevens side in 2014.
Matt and fiancé Lou live in Tauranga with their three children; Duke-Dougy, Kapua Lulu, and Albie Rei. He enjoy’s the outdoors and time with family and friends. Matt continues to be involved with local rugby club; Nga Papaka o Rangataua, he is also a World champion Waka-Ama paddler and enjoys getting out doors as much as possible.
