A truly generational opportunity.

Waikato Thoroughbred Racing is searching for land to become the base for a future Greenfields Site that can accommodate a racing and training super-hub.
The proposed acquisition of a Greenfields site marks a transformative step for Waikato Thoroughbred Racing. This future site is envisioned to replace the racing and training venues in Te Rapa, Cambridge, and Waipa, consolidating operations into a single, world-class facility. The new venue will support the training of up to 1,250 thoroughbreds daily, operating 365 days a year, and host up to 50 race or trial meetings annually.
To meet the operational needs of this vision, the Greenfields site should meet the following criteria:
• Land area − 125 hectares to 200 hectares
• Contour − flat
• Soil type − sand throughout its profile
• Water − significant water requirements and consents
• Location − no greater than 30 minutes driving time from the midpoint between Hamilton and Cambridge and preferably situated between Hamilton, Cambridge, and Te Awamutu
• Consents − must be able to be consented for racing purposes and related business activity
• Neighbouring sites − not immediately adjacent to urbanisation pressures over the next 50 years
