Richard is a 33 year real estate real estate veteran. Highly experienced and highly regarded, his career has concentrated in Remuera, Parnell, Mt Eden and Epsom.
In partnership with Mt Eden local Colleen Strachan the two have experienced many years of successful transactions client relationships. In short, Richard's sales success now totals close to a billion dollars. This has been achieved largely as a result of referral business. Once you have met Richard it will not take you long to realise why this is the case.
Engaging, personable and totally professional his ‘people first’ approach is immediately evident.
Born and raised in Remuera, he travelled extensively since leaving Auckland Grammar School in 1983, working in sales for Fisher and Paykel NZ and as part of the new sales force sent to Australia in 1987.
Richard’s real estate career began in 1991. He is married to Wendy Hart ex-owner of Flowers After Hours in Parnell and lives now between their Remuera house on Bassett Road, a 1960s Jasmax house previously owned and designed by John Austin and their citrus orchard just out of Matakana north of Auckland.
Richard's people first, the deal second approach is very much his "heart", this has real synergy with the Bayleys "family" real estate approach. His affiliation with the University of Auckland (Property) and extensive database are an added bonus to the easy manner he brings to every situation. A top sportsman himself, If not selling houses you’ll find Richard training for multi-sport events including sea swimming, mountain biking, running or kayaking with some recent highlight achievement's being a cross channel team swim from Great Barrier Island to the CBD for St John ambulance and a multi-day Cape Reinga to Wellington triathlon for I Am Hope charity .
In his own words Richard says: “referral/repeat business is the kindest compliment that we can receive. I have been fortunate enough to have many multiple client transactions in my 30 years of selling."
