Michael Guy joined the real estate industry seven years ago with a passion for property.
Since joining Bayleys his success selling residential and lifestyle properties has seen him awarded the title of Top 5% of Bayleys Salespersons 2017-2018. He is also the #1 salesperson for Bayleys in the North 2017-2018, #1 salesperson for Bayleys Orewa 2017-2018, and winner of the Top Auction Award 2017-2018 for Bayleys in the North.
Over the years he has owned numerous homes and renovated a number of these. He has recently moved to a lifestyle property where he is renovating a minor dwelling. This experience of buying, selling and renovating property gives him first-hand knowledge of the rewards property can bring as well as extensive insight into the industry.
Prior to joining real estate, Michael worked as a journalist and a writer. He wrote a number of books including Whiteout, a best-selling book about the true account of Air New Zealand's DC10 crash on Mt Erebus. He is also well-known as a restaurant critic, a passion he still continues in his spare time.
Michael is able to communicate clearly with his clients to ensure he discovers what they want. His writing skills means he can create compelling property advertisements that attract maximum interest in your home. Outside of real estate, Michael's passion is fishing the Kaipara from his family bach at Pahi.
Michael lives at Kaukapakapa with his wife, Anna, a teacher with Northern Health Schools. He and his wife have raised two daughters together and consider this to be their greatest achievement.
