Gordon brings extensive property knowledge and integrity to the table and truly cares about achieving the best possible results for his clients. Having been a business owner of valuation and real estate companies for around 40 years, Gordon knows what it takes to conduct real estate business in a professional manner and achieve successful outcomes for vendors and purchasers alike.

In his long career Gordon founded a valuation practice at the age of 21 and by the time he sold this business to an international property company it was the market leader in valuations and commercial sales/leasing in Wellington. He moved on to establishing a successful and market leading specialist real estate company selling hotels, motels, lodges and other accommodation businesses throughout New Zealand and parts of the Pacific and ran this business for over 20 years before selling it to Bayleys. He has spent around 10 years on the Institute of Valuers Wellington Committee and five years on the Advisory Committee to the Real Estate Authority.

Gordon recognises that buying and selling real estate is usually the largest investment Kiwis make in their lifetime so it’s important that they get it right. He enjoys assisting people with these very important decisions and using his professional skills to guide his clients to make the right choices. Gordon holds a valuer qualification and his vendors benefit from these advanced appraisal skills when he is pricing their home and devising the best marketing strategy.

Gordon lives on a five-acre block on the outskirts of Whangamata and enjoys fishing, archery and tackling projects around the house. He and his wife love the opportunity to give back and they provide a safe and caring environment for children in need on a respite basis when their caregivers need a break.

Gordon’s focus is on residential sales and sales of accommodation businesses and he loves to bring buyers and sellers together for better than expected results.

Our home had been on the market with other agents for some time prior to our first meeting but there had been little enquiry and poor feedback.  It seemed that they had run out of ideas, enthusiasm and inspiration, and had been content to maintain the listing without critical thinking.   Enter Dale and Gordon!   We recognised that the market was small and sluggish but at our first meeting you showed us not only an immediate plan but a longer-term strategy:  There were time-targets for 'right now'; plans for 'what's next'; ideas for future marketing.   From the very beginning we felt that we were part of the marketing and sales team; that at its centre was your strategy to communicate constantly with us - keeping us in the loop with information and presentation tips.   Importantly, you recognised our efforts to present well, and never failed to compliment us on our efforts.  We well remember Gordon's dry observation as he glanced around the front entry, "Spiders know they don't have a chance around here!"  These things meant a great deal to our ability to maintain our focus on onerous tasks.   Further, the involvement of your Principal who came to see us with you, showed us, not only that he was maintaining pressure on you to work hard for a sale, but that he was willing to assist the effort by creating wider-market options such as your national publication. His eye for detail also pointed out a few simple 'maintenance' issues that we could easily fix once we recognised their importance.   This strengthened our feeling that there was actually a larger 'team behind the team' working with us.   Once you found our elusive potential buyer you made sure we kept our hopes up by increasing communication even when the news was less than we wanted to hear.   Finally, a quick mention about your integrity.  You showed us early-on that you would not compromise your principles by tipping your hand on potential buyers; that their discussions with you were private, and while you would keep us informed - we would not be privy to detail.  This gave us confidence that in similar fashion you would not leak in the other direction either, and that we wouldn't find ourselves in a disadvantageous position in crunch-time negotiations.   We sold our house!  But we are all aware of who did the heavy lifting!   Heroyam slava.
